The first step in the process of building our Barn showhome was a groundbreaking ceremony.
We were lucky enough to have the Mayor of St Neots, Councillor Gordon Thorpe, perform the ceremony for us.
The first sod was cut for our 2,780sq ft show barn, marking the start of a nine month process in order to ensure that we can demonstrate the mechanics of the process to self-builders. Under normal circumstances, this entire process can be completed in about 12 weeks.
You can really get a feel for the size of the new show barn from the layout. From experience plots
usually feel much smaller than they are when they are laid out. This probably means that this is going to be a big home in every sense of the word.
The Mayor turned up early so we treated him and his wife to a cup of tea. He joked that the dilemma for us is that with three show homes already on-site which kitchen do we make the tea in.
